In Janjilobi Village, Barumun District, Padang Lawas Regency, some children experience difficulties in reading Arabic letters (huruf hijaiyah), understanding tajwid rules, and reading the Qur’an with tartil. This article aims to analyze these difficulties and implement community-based mentoring to improve Qur’an reading skills. PKM activities involved university students, Qur’an teachers, and parents, using interactive learning methods, teacher training, and mentoring at home. The results show improvements in letter pronunciation, understanding of tajwid, tartil reading ability, as well as children’s motivation and discipline. This PKM demonstrates that a collaborative and innovative mentoring model can be an effective solution that can be replicated in other areas 2026-01-16T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Siti Robayan Dalimunthe, Yunaldi Yunaldi https://www.darelmahara.org/index.php/nuqhat/article/view/263 ASSISTING ARABIC WRITING SKILLS THROUGH SCAFFOLDED INSTRUCTION 2026-01-16T05:00:51+00:00 Sri Rahayu Harahap srirahayuharahap6@gmail.com Writing in Arabic is a complex skill involving linguistic mastery, cognitive processes, and motor coordination. In learning, students still experience difficulties in letter formation, distinguishing phonetically similar letters, spelling accuracy, and constructing simple sentences. This article aims to enhance the Arabic writing skills of tenth-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Darussalam Kampung Banjir, Padang Lawas Utara, through a structured mentoring program. The program is implemented through scaffolded learning integrated with classroom activities, starting from letter and word writing exercises, constructing simple sentences, writing text components, to guided compositions. The results show improvements in writing accuracy, student confidence, and engagement in learning. Additionally, this activity helps teachers identify students' writing difficulties and implement more responsive teaching strategies. This community service affirms the importance of continuous mentoring and contextual writing practice in improving Arabic writing skills at the secondary education level 2026-01-16T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 https://www.darelmahara.org/index.php/nuqhat/article/view/264 STRENGTHENING THE QURANIC RECITATION EXTRACURRICULAR PROGRAM AT PONDOK PESANTREN MODERN BAHARUDDIN 2026-01-16T08:10:13+00:00 Nora El Isra noraelisra@gmail.com The importance of Quranic recitation (tilawah) development as part of strengthening the religious competence of students (santri), as well as the limited availability of systematic and continuously evaluated mentoring models in the pesantren (Islamic boarding school) environment. This activity aims to strengthen the Quranic recitation extracurricular program through a structured mentoring program for santri. The findings of this activity reveal a lack of systematic mentoring models; therefore, this initiative involves santri and supervising teachers in learning tajwid (rules of recitation), makharijul huruf (articulation points of letters), sifatul huruf (characteristics of letters), and recitation melodies through demonstrations and direct practice. In conclusion, this program not only improves the quality of Quranic recitation but also provides a sustainable mentoring model that can be adopted by other pesantren 2026-01-16T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 https://www.darelmahara.org/index.php/nuqhat/article/view/265 EXPLORING GRAMMAR MASTERY AS A FOUNDATION OF READING SKILLS IN SALAFIYAH ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOLS 2026-01-16T11:12:35+00:00 Risky Samina Simamora riskysaminahsimamora@gmail.com Grammar mastery (qawāʿid al-naḥwu) plays an essential role in understanding classical Arabic texts, particularly in Salafiyah Islamic education where unvocalized texts are commonly used. This study investigates the relationship between students’ grammar mastery and their reading skills (maharah al-qirā’ah) among eighth-grade students at Ma‘had Salafiyah Islamiyah al-Wustha, Padang Bujur. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 20 students through grammar and reading tests. The findings show that students with higher grammar mastery tend to demonstrate better reading proficiency, while those with limited grammatical understanding experience greater difficulty in reading classical texts. The results confirm a strong positive relationship between grammar mastery and reading skills, highlighting the importance of integrating grammar instruction with reading practice in Salafiyah-based Arabic learning 2026-01-16T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 https://www.darelmahara.org/index.php/nuqhat/article/view/266 IMPROVING STUDENTS’ ARABIC COMPOSITION PERFORMANCE USING THE LISTING TECHNIQUE 2026-01-16T15:40:16+00:00 Syafiha Napsah syafihasiregar1518@gmail.com Some students face difficulties in generating ideas, constructing sentences, and creating coherent paragraphs, with an initial average score of [insert initial score], indicating low writing ability and a tendency to rely on memorization rather than meaningful expression.
