Abstract

Objectives This research is to demonstrate the educational competence of the Arabic language teacher in teaching speaking skills in the seventh grade at the Government Secondary School 2, Central Palobat, Padangsidimpuan, southeast of the city of Padangsidimpuan. The researcher used the type of this research is qualitative research. The instrument for data collection in this research is observation, interview, and documentation. As for the results of this research, it is that the educational efficiency of the Arabic language teachers in teaching the speaking skill of the students in the seventh grade of the government secondary school 2 in Central Palobat Padangsidimpuan, southeast of the city of Padangsidimpuan, has been sufficient, but the teacher still uses the Indonesian language more than the Arabic language in the teaching process, especially in teaching speaking skills. This research concludes that Government Secondary School 2 Palobat teachers are sufficiently competent in teaching speaking skills
